Purpose:
This role is designed to be the principal contact for all operational/supply chain activities in Colombia and Perú, the primary liaison between corporate operations/supply chain, sales/marketing, customers and suppliers. Will also be a key contributor to the overall supply chain strategy for Latam.
Responsibilities:
Enable operational solutions in support of distributor business.
- Promote the business relationship between MS and the Distributor(s) by working jointly with sales and marketing to identify and meet business objectives for the overall channel.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of our customer’s supply chain and strategy and identify and implement end to end win/win solutions for customer and MS across the combined supply chain
- Understand and provide operational solutions to meet promotional and program activities.
- Communicate business direction/plans to gain further efficiencies and effectiveness as a supply chain partner.
- Understand and convey local business conditions to Sales and Operations partners (both local and regional) and lead solution delivery of new operational models
- Perform project management role where necessary to deliver key initiatives
Ensure operational SOPs are negotiated and agreed properly with all Distributors within the region on an annual basis, including:
- Ordering & order management procedures
- Logistics master plan(s)
- Returns procedures
- Scrap/destruction procedures
- Promotions management procedures
- Regional rebate procedures
- Customer engagement matrix
- Query resolution procedures
- Credit and collections procedures
- Xbox Console Exchange procedures
- Ensure compliance with Distribution agreements/contracts and Resource Guide
Maintain healthy channel inventory in conjunction with the Operations Category Managers and Planning teams based on strategic input from Sales and Category management in the MS subsidiary while balancing sell-in and sell through forecasts and actual performance.
Setup process and provide tools to optimize distributor(s) efficiency and effectiveness with Microsoft business.
- Monitor channel inventory status on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Maintain channel In-Stock-Percentage tool, generate out of stock and recommended order quantity report
- Leverage MS tools and information, including extranet reporting tools, MS Ops etc and resolve issues of tools and information
- Participate in management of new system planning and provide direction on future developments.
Manage product bundling, promotions, and new product launches
Drive cost reduction initiatives in relation to the distribution activities, which requires financial analysis capability
Play an active role in the demand forecasting process in conjunction with Planning and the subsidiaries in region.
Analyse competitive trends and the associated risks and opportunities in order to develop innovative business solutions that help grow the business
Collaborate with the other regional Country Operations Managers, Commercial OAMS and Order Management teams to leverage best practices and deliver a “one Microsoft” approach to the Distributor(s)
Key requirement is the ability to work within a highly matrixed dispersed organization.
Qualifications Should Include:
A minimum of 8 years of Supply Chain experience, including a strong familiarity with supply chain management concepts (i.e., Inventory Management, forecasting, replenishment, order management, channel measurement) and statistical analysis.
5 years experience in Retail or Distributor environment or a supplier to these channels
Strong understanding of logistics and distribution landscape in Colombia, Perú and Latin America
Strong understanding of marketing concepts and impact on channel demand versus end user demand.
Ability to partner at senior levels in retail to design and implement customer specific joint value programs
Proven track record as supply chain planning & design expert (multi projects, end to end supply chain impact incl. customer, suppliers, vendors etc.)
Deep analytical and problem resolution skills.
Strong communications, interpersonal and organizational, and presentation skills in a team environment.
Knowledge of Systems Infrastructure - understanding tools and data content, leveraging content.
General knowledge of international business and a high degree of cultural awareness and sensitivity required. Multiple language skills would be useful.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation experience and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English.
